I tell you what, it is a surreal feeling, to say the least. To see my second novel published and hitting the market, let alone happening only two months after my first novel, fLUX Runners went live.

On top of that, I was able to delve into my own backstory a little and make a hero from a Crew Chief (aircraft mechanic) from the 2nd Pursuit Squadron, (my last active duty squadron) finds himself in a world of hurt at a forward airbase in northern France.

Cover blurb:

France, 1944. A misfit group of soldiers, aircrew and a stray Marine are sent out by Task Force 13 to take on a horror that is ravaging the French countryside. When the threat takes to the air, a P-61 Black Widow, held together by spit and tape, takes off into battle. —

2nd FS Squadron patch

Now the really fun part was that during all of the research that I did for this novel was that I found out that my last squadron, the 2nd FS, were actually flying P-61 Black Widows during the time period in France in which the story takes place, but at that time they were known at the 2nd Pursuit squadron.

So if you want a good run of science fiction and monsters tossed in with the feel of an old school WW2 flick, packed with action, laughs and just a touch of romance, give Widowmakers a gander and tell me what you think .

The last aircraft I crewed while stationed in the 2nd FS at Tyndall Air Force Base. After the squadron was closed, she was transferred to Eglin AFB, and eventually sent to her final resting place out west in the Davis-Monthan AFB’s aircraft bone yard near Tucson Arizona.
