As always, I’m busier than a three-legged man in an ass-kicking contest.
First off, we’ve been getting things caught up on the backlog of titles, but it makes for some great reading. And I’m especially excited to dig into the submissions for my Heathens and Heroes anthology. Sword and Sorcery at its best.
But this past weekend, we made a little trip out to Murphy North Carolina to hang with the guys at Buck Bald Brewing. We partnered up with them for the release of It Came From the Trailer Park Volume 3 and they released a brand new drink, the Vesper Wren’s Trailer Park Pixie Punch based on the story Pixie Dusted by Philip K. Booker. If you like fruity and bubbly, then you’ll most likely enjoy this drink.
Heading to Chicago land
Around O’Dark thirty on Thursday morning I’ll be flying out to Deerfield, Illinois on the north side of Chicago.
What’s that? Why the hell is a Hillbilly heading for Chicago?
Because I was invited to be a speaker at the Evanston Writers Workshop.
Don’t believe me? They even put my ugly mug up on their website.
Other than all of these goings on, I’ve been trying to get as much writing time in as I can. Especially when I can get out, go for a walk and do some dictation. I’m enjoying it more and more and so far I’ve been averaging around 4,000-5,000 words on an hour to an hour and a half walk. Granted there’s some clean up and editing involved to add in punctuation, but it sure makes putting the meat of the story in place stupid easy.
That being said, I’ve added about 8k to the Smuggler’s Quest novel, knocked out two short stories, have almost finished my Heathens and Heroes short and started working back on my first Braxton Hicks novel.
Speaking of which, I also started playing with an image generator that someone told me about, and I’m loving it for brainstorming and fleshing out ideas on things.
Time to get back to work. So until next time, Keep your heads up and your Pens sharp.
